Grigory Naukhatsky


Prior to joining Baring Vostok, Grigory worked at global management consulting firm McKinsey on strategy, operational improvement and organizational transformations projects. Before that Grigory worked as a trader / PM at VTB Bank’s proprietary trading desk managing equities portfolio.
Grigory has MSc degree from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Applied Mathematics and Physics, 2010) and cum laude MA diploma from New Economic School (Economics, 2010).

Anastasia is responsible for coordinating the information flow within the company, documentation, internal compliance procedures and communications with the administrators.
Anastasia has completed a number of training programs in Financial Accounting, IFRS and Compliance in American Institute of Business and Economics, PWC Academy and Jersey International Business School. Anastasia has graduated from Moscow State Pedagogical University with a degree in Linguistics and Intercultural Communication.

Prior to joining Baring Vostok, Dmitry worked at global management consulting firm Bain&Company on strategy and operational improvement projects. Dmitry has MSc degree from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Applied Mathematics and Physics specialization, and studied at Ecole Polytechnique.

Mrs. Nielsen joined the team at Baring Vostok in 2006 after more than six years of joint work on various projects. She has over 25 years of experience in corporate and finance law, including more than 20 years living and working in Moscow. From 1992 to 2006 she was a partner or had senior positions in the Moscow representative office of Baker Botts (1992 to 1994), Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy (1997 to 2000) and Debevoise & Plimpton (2001 to 2006). As part of a Harvard University project, from 1995 to 1997, Holly worked as a senior advisor to the Chairman of the Russian Securities Commission. In addition, she took part in the creation of the first Russian investment fund in 1994. Holly has a doctorate in law from Kansas University and a Bachelor’s degree from Vassar College.
Prior to joining Baring Vostok, Alexander worked in Basic Element, a diversified Russian holding company, where he was responsible for evaluating new investment opportunities and monitoring portfolio companies in different sectors. Previously worked in Ernst&Young.
Alexander holds BSc degree in economics from Plekhanov Russian University of Economics (2012), MSc degree in Banking and International Finance from Cass Business School (2013), is a CFA charterholder.

Mr. Touzeau has been involved with the Baring Vostok Private Equity Funds since 2001, for the 12 years prior to this, Peter was an accountant manager and accountant for a number of Captive Insurance Companies in Guernsey. Before joining Baring Vostok, Peter worked in Funds’ Administrators as Client Director to a Team of administrators and accountants responsible for a number of Fund groups including Buy-out, Fund of Funds, Mezzanine and Venture Capital with operation in Asia, Russia and Europe and managing the General Partner of a number of Guernsey closed-ended private equity Funds.
Peter’s primary responsibility is overseeing the operation of the Baring Vostok Funds including liaising with the Funds’ Investment Adviser, Administrators and other fund service providers. Peter is also a Director of the General Partners and a number of holding companies in Guernsey, Cyprus and The Netherlands.
Prior to joining Baring Vostok, Dmitry worked in Equity Research department at Goldman Sachs, where he was primarily involved in analytical coverage of CEEMEA Transportation companies with a focus on airlines, ports and railroads. Before that, Dmitry had internships with Severstal, Standard & Poor's, and Ernst & Young. Dmitry holds MSc degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (2010), and MAs degree in Economics from New Economic School (2012).

Before Baring Vostok, Vasily had internships with ING Bank Eurasia, and Halcyon Advisors hedge fund. Vasily holds BSc degree in mathematics from Novosibirsk State University (2010), and Master's degree in economics from State University - Higher School of Economics (2012).

Alexander has been with the company since the founding of the First NIS fund in 1994, and has worked on a number of investment projects in natural resources, forestry, and real estate sectors. From 1992 to 1994 Alexander was an investment specialist with the Russian Project Finance Bank (a subsidiary of the EBRD), and from 1986 to 1992, he worked at Vnesheconombank as a specialist for investment financing. In 1991 Alexander had a year-long internship with Morgan Grenfell (UK). He graduated from the Finance and Credit Department of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

Prior to joining Baring Vostok Ivan worked in London with private equity Fjord Capital Partners where he was responsible for projects in Eastern Europe and at Foresight Capital Partners in Moscow, where he worked on projects in the energy and finance sectors. Before that, Ivan had an internship with Goldman Sachs IBD in London and he also had a business development role with a Japanese corporation (Asahi Seiko). Ivan graduated from the Institute of Asian and African Studies at Lomonosov Moscow State University and from Cranfield School of Management with MSc degree in Finance and Management. He is also a CFA charter holder.

Ekaterina is responsible for identifying and researching new projects, as well as carrying out diligence on sectors of the economy. She is also the coordinator of the Funds’ environmental, health, safety and governance program and is in regular communications with portfolio companies. Before coming to Baring Vostok, from 1997 Ekaterina worked as the personal assistant to the CEO of Sector Capital. She joined the Baring Vostok team as Personal Assistant to the Managing Partner. In 2002 she received an MBA in finance from Moscow International Higher Business School (MIRBIS) and was promoted to the position of Analyst.Ekaterina graduated with honours from the Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography.

Igor works closely with finance directors of investees to establish and improve financial and management reporting systems, budgeting and internal control procedures, risk management techniques, business modeling as well as coordinates due diligence procedures towards potential targets. Igor joined Baring Vostok fr om Ernst & Young wh ere as a director rendered business valuation, financial modeling, restructuring and transaction support services. His total experience in Big 4 exceeds 11 years. Igor holds a PhD degree from the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation, is a CFA charterholder and a member of ACCA.

Gabbas works directly with the chief financial officers of portfolio companies, with the aim of creating high-quality financial and management reporting, internal control and corporate management systems.
Previously, Gabbas was the financial controller for Coca-Cola in Russia. He graduated with honours from the St. Petersburg University of Economics and Finance with a Master’s Degree in International Economics. Gabbas is a Fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK).

Before joining Baring Vostok, Vagan spent 12 years at Alfa Bank, during the last six of which he was in charge of the Asset Management Department. As the Chairman of Alfa Bank Investment Committee, he was in charge of a wide range of investments, including CTC Media, during which Baring Vostok closely and successfully worked with Vagan for several years. Vagan left Alfa Bank in 2008 for X5 Retail Group N.V. where he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of X5 Development and an advisor to the CEO. Prior to Alfa Bank, Vagan was an auditor with Ernst & Young. He graduated from the Department of International Economic Relations of the State Management Academy.

Konstantin’s industries of focus include consumer goods, retail and medical services sectors. He joined Baring Vostok after 14 years in investment banking. For the three years prior to joining Baring Vostok, he was a Managing Partner of Aquila Capital Group; before that he was Director for Acquisitions with West Siberian Resources. From 1999 to 2004 he was the Director of the Investment Banking Administration at Troika Dialog. Konstantin started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Renaissance Capital. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Economics from Graceland College (USA) and is a certified financial analyst (CFA).

Industry focus: media, telecommunications, software and internet.
Before joining Baring Vostok, Elena was the director of Sector Capital and was in charge of investments of the Sector Capital Fund in media and telecommunications, including CTC Media. Elena graduated with honours from Novosibirsk State University with a degree in Economics and Mathematics, and has a Master’s degree in finance and accounting from the London School of Economics. Elena is a certified financial analyst (CFA).

Michael started working in Moscow in 1994 as one of the advisers of the First NIS Regional Fund. He is the Founder and the Senior Partner of BVCP. Before joining Baring Vostok, Michael lived in London and New York, where he worked mainly on oil and gas investment projects for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Salomon Brothers. At EBRD he was responsible for investments in the energy sector in Central and Eastern Europe. At Salomon Brothers Michael worked on mergers and acquisitions in the oil and gas industry. Michael has a Master's degree in finance from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in business from Oklahoma University. Michael is also on the Board of Directors of the Atlantic Council and the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association.

Vadim is focused on business development and searching for new projects and also is involved with monitoring existing Fund projects in telecommunications and broadband. Before joining Baring Vostok, he served as Finance Director at Eagle Venture Partners, a venture capital fund which invested on behalf of the EBRD, GIMV, RaboBank and other European investment companies in Russia and Kazakhstan. In his five years at EVP, Vadim worked as a financial analyst, investment manager and finance director. He graduated from Voronezh State University with a degree in Finance and Credit. He has a graduate degree in Enterprise Management, and completed an internship at the Harvard Business School.

Andrey’s primary responsibility is management of the Baring Vostok Private Equity Funds portfolios, overseeing the operation of the Baring Vostok Funds including liaising with Target and Portfolio Companies, Investment Committees, the Funds’ Administrators, Auditors, Bankers, Lawyers and the Investment Advisor. Andrey is also a Director of a number of holding companies in Guernsey and Cyprus.
Formerly Andrey coordinated the search for and evaluation of new projects, and ensured that all operations were compliant to Baring Private Equity International standards.
Before joining Baring Vostok in 1999, Andrey worked as Director of the Research Department at Alfa Capital, fr om 1993 to 1998. Andrey has a PhD in Economics from the Moscow Institute of Transport Engineers, wh ere he also lectured for six years.

Dmitry joined Baring Vostok as an Analyst focusing on industry research, screening of new investment opportunities and portfolio valuation analysis. In 2009 he was promoted to Investment Manager. Dmitry’s previous experience includes work with Deloitte in 2003 and 2004 where he was engaged in auditing companies from various industries. In 2005 and 2006 he was a freelance journalist with a focus on financial and economic issues. Dmitry graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (with honours) from the Economics Department of Moscow State University in 2003. In 2005 he graduated from Manchester Business School (UK) with a Master’s degree in Finance.

Prior to joining the Baring Vostok team, Ezra worked for the international law firm, Norton Rose (2001-2008, 2010-13), including client secondments to ExxonMobil (2002), Corus (2007) and BP Russia (2012-13). Ezra has also worked for KPMG Poland (1996-98) and a boutique investment house (2008-10). Ezra holds a LLB in Laws from University College London, a LLM in International Business Law from University of London, a postgraduate diploma in international business from University of Bristol, a KPMG executive MBA and a postgraduate diploma in law from the College of Law in Chester. He is an English law qualified lawyer.

Ekaterina has also worked for Cushman&Wakefield and Ernst&Young. Ekaterina graduated from the Higher School of Economics with a Master’s degree in Finance and Stock Markets (2007).

David is responsible for Investor Relations. Before joining to Baring Vostok, David worked on micro-finance projects for the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Switzerland. From 1998 through 2001, he was employed as a Senior Program Associate at Business for Social Responsibility in San Francisco, wh ere he worked with US multinational companies on labour, environment and community development issues. David has a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Columbia University and a Master’s Degree in International Relations and Economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

Galia Amirova joined Baring Vostok to focus on Investor Relations. Prior to joining the Baring Vostok team, Galia worked for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (2006 – 2013), Equity Funds team. Galia holds Bachelor Degree in Telecommunications from Tashkent University of Information Technologies.

Matvey is responsible for researching new projects. Prior worked in Megafon as analyst (2013-2015) and Power Management (2010-2011).
Matvey graduated with honors from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and from New Economics School with MAs degree in Economics.

Philippe has more than 17 years of experience in Banking, a major part of it in Russia. He founded Cetelem Russia (BNP Paribas Group) and served as its CEO and as well as Chairman of BNP Paribas Vostok from 2007 until 2010.
From 2004 until 2006, as a CEO, he developed Rusfinance Bank (Societe Generale Group) up to the #2 position in Russia for car lending. In addition, Mr. Delpal has over eight years of experience as an auditor at Societe Generale.
Philippe is also currently serving as a non-executive director for HMS Group (Moscow), Blackrock Emerging Europe Fund (London) and Komercijalna Banka AD (Belgrade).
He graduated from the Telecom Paris University with a degree in IT, Telecoms and Economics.

Mr Timms has over 20 years’ experience in financial services with over 10 years focused on private equity and in particular closed ended buy-out funds. Before joining Baring Vostok, Julian worked in Funds’ Administrators as Client Director managing a portfolio of Fund Structures comprising Buy-Out Funds, Fund of Funds and Listed Funds.
Julian is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (“ACCA”) having completed his training with an independent Guernsey based audit firm where he was an audit manager overseeing the audit of Limited Partnership structures and local retail and trading companies. Julian has been involved with the Baring Vostok Private Equity Funds since 2006.
Julian’s primary responsibility is overseeing the operation of the Baring Vostok Funds including liaising with the Funds’ Administrators, Auditors, Bankers, Lawyers and the Investment Advisor. Julian is also a Director of the General Partners and a number of holding companies in Guernsey and The Netherlands. He is a Director and Member of the advisory Committee of BVIL PCC.
Prior to joining Baring Vostok, Yulia worked at Evolution, a company of diversified Russian holdings (including FK Uralsib and Kopeika Trade House), where she was head of the HR department. Prior to that Yulia was Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of OAO Uralsib on strategic development of Human Capital. Before joining Uralsib, she worked for 10 years at ABN AMRO Bank A.O. as HR Director, and was a member of the Managing Board. Yulia holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from University of Twente (Netherlands) and from Moscow Institute of Statistics and Information.

Tav is responsible for identifying potential natural resource investments in Russia, the CIS, and Mongolia.
Prior to BVCP he worked as a managing director at Goldman Sachs in the Global Natural Resources Group in 2009 and was responsible for the investment banking division's advisory work with natural resource clients in Russia and the CIS. Prior to working at Goldman Sachs, Tav was a member of the Board of Directors and Chief Operating Officer from 2004 to 2008 at Norilsk Nickel, where he was responsible for mining and metal production and strategy & business development. While at Norilsk he served as the chairman of the Board of Directors for the Nickel Institute from 2006 to 2008. From 1995 to 2004, he worked at McKinsey & Company, where he was a partner and served as Moscow office manager and co-head of the European Basic Materials Practice. Earlier in his career, Tav worked as a consultant at Ernst & Young, where he advised the State Property Committees of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on privatization programs.
Tav earned a BA in Political Science from Yale University in 1990 and an MPhil in Russian and East European Studies from St. Antony's College, Oxford University.
